Frequently asked questions

Last updated: September 5, 2026

What Surfacely actually measures, what's included in the paid report, and what isn't built yet.

How the audit works

What does Surfacely actually measure?

Surfacely analyzes a page on two axes: SEO (classic technical best practices — tags, structure, indexability) and GEO, for Generative Engine Optimization (how technically accessible your content is to generative AIs like ChatGPT, Perplexity or Claude). Both scores are computed by deterministic rules, not a language model — the same URL, in the same state, always gets the same score.

Does a good SEO score guarantee good Google rankings?

No. The SEO score measures compliance with technical best practices, not your actual position in search results — Google's ranking algorithm isn't public and depends on many other factors (domain authority, backlinks, content relevance...).

Does the GEO score mean my brand will be cited by ChatGPT?

Not yet. The GEO score currently checks whether your content is technically accessible and usable by generative AIs (robots.txt, llms.txt, structured data, content visible without JavaScript...). It doesn't yet test whether your brand is actually cited in a real ChatGPT, Perplexity or Claude answer — that real-condition check is planned for a future version.

Do I need an account to run an audit?

No, the free audit (SEO + GEO) works without an account. Signing in additionally lets you save your audit history and unlock the paid detailed report.

Detailed report & pricing

What does the paid detailed report add?

A prioritized action plan with copy-paste-ready fixes for every issue detected, as a downloadable PDF, plus a "Performance & Robustness" category: Core Web Vitals (via Google PageSpeed Insights), HTTPS security, heading hierarchy, and broken-link detection — checks that aren't counted in the free SEO and GEO scores.

How much does the detailed report cost?

The price, all taxes included, is shown before payment on the Stripe checkout page when you unlock a report — we don't state it here so it stays accurate if it changes.

What's the free 15-day re-check?

Once a report is unlocked, re-running an audit on the same URL within the following 15 days automatically unlocks the new report, once, at no extra cost. Beyond that window (or beyond this one free re-check), a new report is billed at the price shown at checkout.

Is the automatic periodic tracking available?

Not yet: it's a planned feature (automatic periodic re-checks of your site over time), but it isn't built or for sale yet. You can register your interest from your account page to be notified once it's available.

Can I get a refund on a report I bought by mistake?

Since the report is delivered instantly, it's only refunded in specific cases: a duplicate charge, a technical failure on our side that prevents access to the report, or any other error attributable to us. Contact us by email to request one.

Account & data

What happens if I delete my account?

Your audit history is permanently erased, including reports you've already purchased: they become unrecoverable and aren't refunded as a result. Keep that in mind before deleting your account if a paid report hasn't been downloaded yet.

Who publishes Surfacely?

Surfacely is published by BusshiDev — full details (legal status, hosting, contact) are in the legal notice.
